Students at Six Universities File Legal Complaints About Fossil Fuel Investments
Student organizers at six universities in the U.S. wrote to the attorneys general of their respective states asking officials to scrutinize their universities’ investments. The students argue that by investing in coal, oil and gas, the schools are violating their obligations as non-profit organizations to prioritize the public interest.

Princeton Review Releases 2024 Guide to Green Colleges
Princeton Review's latest Guide to Green Colleges features sustainability-related distinctions from 522 higher education institutions, plus the Top 50 Green Colleges ranking. The highlighted institutions were selected based on survey data from attending students and administrators. Of the schools selected, 474 are in the U.S., 30 are in Canada, four are in Ireland, three are in United Arab Emirates, two each are in Australia and Mexico, and one each is in Azerbaijan, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, Greece, Morocco, Philippines and Taiwan.
Second Nature Announces Catalyst Grant Recipients
Eleven colleges and universities have been selected to receive up to $10,000 each for projects that accelerate decarbonization, climate resilience and climate justice. The 11 institutions are Central Oregon Community College, Earlham College, Morehouse College, Northeastern University, Paradise Valley Community College, SUNY New Paltz, Tecnológico de Monterrey, University at Buffalo, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Warren Wilson College and Western Colorado University.
