2023 STARS Cohort and End of Year Discount

Through the end of 2022, AASHE is offering two opportunities for institutions to participate in the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS). The STARS Cohort Program is designed to guide new and returning participants through the reporting process by providing hands-on training and support. AASHE is also offering a 20 percent discount to institutions without a current STARS subscription. This offer is only applicable to new STARS full access subscriptions, not renewals, which are already substantially discounted. The deadline to sign up for the cohort and/or the discount is Dec. 31.

Campus Race to Zero Waste

Campus Race to Zero Waste, formerly Recyclemania, is a friendly competition and benchmarking tool for college and university recycling programs to promote waste reduction activities to their campus communities. Over an eight-week period each spring, colleges across the U.S. and Canada report the amount of recycling and trash collected each week and are ranked in various categories.

International Student Challenge to Achieve Zero Hunger

The International Student Challenge to Achieve Zero Hunger invites undergraduate and graduate students to generate projects that will make a meaningful impact on global hunger and nutrition problems. Students teams will develop novel ways to achieve zero hunger, Sustainable Development Goal 2. This challenge is organized by a consortium of universities as part of the University Global Coalition Decade of Action Initiative. The interest form is due by Nov. 11.

TASK Pilot Study by Sulitest

Sulitest invites students to participate in the international TASK (The Assessment of Sustainability Knowledge) pilot program. The Assessment of Sustainability Knowledge is a measurement tool for individuals' knowledge of sustainability. Responses to the survey will be analyzed in an effort to improve the tool. Pilot participants of TASK will receive a voucher to complete the official certificate for free once it is live in spring 2023. The pilot will be conducted until Nov.18.

Talking About Climate Play Competition

Organizers of the WorldWide Teach-in on Climate and Justice invite plays that are seven minutes or less that engage with the complexities of the climate crisis.
