US Youth Delegation for UN Climate Talks
SustainUS invites students to apply to be part of the U.S. youth delegation at the 2018 climate talks, COP 24, taking place from Dec. 3-14, 2018, in Poland. To apply for this delegation, applicants participate in the SustainUS Climate Justice Challenge. The challenge asks for applicants to publicly share their work and stories of resilience with their communities, networks and the wider movement.

AASHE Workshop: Leading Deep Change in Higher Education
Hosted by Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, this workshop will introduce participants to a leadership development program designed to enable practitioners to generate deep organizational change and establish sustainability as a strategic priority. The workshop is designed to highlight and make sense of the very broad set of topics and disciplines that are relevant for leading a transformational sustainability program. The workshop is limited to 30 participants. The deadline to register is June 15.
National Wildlife Federation Campus Pollinator Pledge
The National Wildlife Federation is asking college and university students, faculty, and staff to take action on their campus to provide healthy habitat for pollinators. By taking the Campus Pollinator Pledge, campuses are committing to protect pollinators by providing healthy habitat through creation, restoration and protection efforts. Campuses that take the pledge are also committing to engage and educate their campus community.
Call for Contributions: Competencies in Education for Sustainable Development
This special issue of Sustainability will focus on education for sustainable development (ESD) competencies. Suggested topics include the integration of ESD competencies in policies, strategies and programs, innovative pedagogical approaches to ESD competencies, processes and tools to assess ESD competencies, and professional development in ESD. The deadline for manuscript submission is Nov. 30.
Call for Applications: Future Organic Farmer Education Grant
The California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) Foundation is now accepting applications for educational grant funding from students currently enrolled in the U.S. who are pursuing a career in organic agricultural production. Applications must be submitted by May 15.
Campus Sustainability Leadership Professional Certificate
The University of Vermont's Continuing and Distance Education program is offering a five-day on-campus Campus Sustainability Leadership course from June 18-22 focusing on change through transformative and financially sustainable initiatives to help campuses become sustainability models. Participants will have the opportunity to expand their professional network and learn from leaders in the field.

2018 Green Sports Alliance Summit Poster Session
Green Sports Alliance is accepting poster submissions as part of its 2018 Green Sports Alliance Summit in Atlanta, June 26-27. A poster session will be offered exclusively for universities, colleges and other academic institutions focusing on sustainability in athletics and/or recreation. The poster sessions will run throughout the summit with dedicated time in the conference program for presenting posters. The deadline to submit is April 6.
EPA Pollution Prevention Grant
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency invites colleges and universities to apply for an EPA Pollution Prevention grant. The grant aims to provide technical assistance about source reduction techniques and to identify, develop, document and share pollution prevention best management practices and innovations. The deadline to apply is April 26.
Focus Climate Gap Year
Focus is a hands-on leadership program for young people interested in immersing themselves in climate impacts and solutions, and launching their own academic, personal and professional paths toward action. Participants may be eligible for up to 18 credits each semester through Portland State University.
The Green Program
The Green Program is an experiential education and workforce development program for young leaders in sustainable development. The organization has introduced a model for education abroad that provides purposeful, hands-on industry exposure. As commitment partners to the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals, the accredited program aims to expose students to sustainability challenges and initiatives around the world.
Sunrise Semester 2018
The Sunrise Movement is recruiting at least 100 young people to serve for a six-month stint as full-time volunteer organizers from June through the election in November. After a one-week bootcamp at the beginning of summer 2018, organizers will fan out to one of five politically significant states to investigate the impact of big oil on elections, challenge political candidates to refuse donations from fossil fuel executives, and endorse and campaign for specific candidates at the local, state and federal levels.
Citizens' Climate International Conference & Lobby Day Student Scholarships
Interested students can apply for a $250 or $500 stipend to attend the Citizens' Climate International Conference and Lobby Day in Washington, D.C., from June 10-12. The Diversity Scholarship is open to people of color. The Conservative Scholarship is open to anyone identifying politically right of center. The deadline to apply is April 15.

International Conference on Sustainable Development Call for Abstracts
The Global Association of Master’s in Development Practice Programs, in collaboration with the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, will hold the sixth annual International Conference on Sustainable Development from September 26-28, 2018, at Columbia University in New York City. The conference theme is Breaking Down Silos: Fostering Collaborative Action on the SDGs. May 1 is the abstract submission deadline.
Rinse, Recycle, Repeat College Campus Competition
Garnier and DoSomething.org invite students to participate in the Rinse, Recycle, Repeat campaign and college campus competition, which aims to educate consumers about the importance of recycling empty beauty product containers. Interested students register to participate, decorate a recycling bin, collect their empty containers, and send them to TerraCycle. The prize is a $5,000 scholarship.
AMS Climate Studies Diversity Project for Minority-Serving Institutions
The American Meteorological Association, in cooperation with the National Science Foundation, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, invites minority-serving institutions to apply to learn how to incorporate an introductory climate science course, AMS Climate Studies, into their curriculum. The program also includes a faculty professional development workshop from July 29 - August 3. The application deadline is April 15.
2018 Saving Endangered Species College Student Art Contest
On behalf of Endangered Species Day on May 18, the Endangered Species Coalition and National Wildlife Federation are pleased to announce the 2018 Saving Endangered Species College Student Art Contest, which is open to current college students. College students are encouraged to share their art by entering the contest and also take action for wildlife on campus and in their community. Entries must be received by March 31.
2018 Best of Green Schools Awards and 2018 Green Apple Day of Service Award
The Center for Green Schools at USGBC is accepting submissions for two award opportunities: The Best of Green Schools Awards and the Green Apple Day of Service Award. The 2018 Best of Green Schools Awards, which are co-presented with the Green Schools National Network, celebrates work being done by individuals, schools, campuses and organizations to push the green schools movement forward. The Green Apple Day of Service Awards honors exemplary Green Apple projects and project leaders. The call for nominations for both awards closes on March 23.
AASHE Workshop: Sustainability Professionals Retreat
The Sustainability Professionals Retreat is designed to encourage professional growth and build targeted skills in facilitation, meeting design, organizational design, governance, idea flow, senior leadership engagement and decision-making. Facilitated by Leith Sharp and Aurora Winslade, this retreat will take time to explore important trends in the higher education and how to position sustainability as a solution driver. AASHE Member Discount: $100 Off Sustainability Certification Through ISSP
The International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP) offers students, faculty and staff from AASHE-member schools a $100 discount on the ISSP Sustainability Associate (ISSP-SA) credential exam. The program is designed to recognize the knowledge, skills and abilities of those in the sustainability field, including students with knowledge of core sustainability concepts.
SustainUS Spring 2018 World Bank Delegation Call for Applications
SustainUS invites applications to be part of a delegation of 15-20 young people that will attend the World Bank annual meetings from Oct. 9-15, 2017, in Washington, D.C. In partnership with civil society organizations, the SustainUS delegation aims to influence the World Bank Group to change its policies on climate change and equitable distribution of development finance. Applications are due by March 9.
Campus Recycling & Materials Management Practices Survey
The College and University Recycling Coalition (CURC) is encouraging schools to participate in a survey to document waste reduction initiatives and strategies. The submitted information will be compiled into a report to be released in spring of 2018, and will be used to populate a database for CURC members and survey participants to compare themselves against similar institutions.
Voter Friendly Campus Designation Application
The Voter Friendly Campus designation program is a tool to support higher education institutions fulfilling the requirements of the Higher Education Act of 1965, which necessitates that institutions distribute voter registration forms to their students. The Voter Friendly Campus designation process provides guidelines for institutions to follow in order to create a more voter-friendly campus. Voter Friendly Campus Designation Interest Forms will be accepted until 150 institutions are accepted or April 2.
NACUBO Excellence in Sustainability Award
The National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) is accepting nominations for their Excellence in Sustainability Award. This award recognizes institutions that have demonstrated excellence and innovation in finance, facilities, operations, environment, community and climate. Nominations for this award close on March 9.
Call for Paper Contributions: The Role of Sustainability in Universities
The International Society for Intercommunication of New Ideas invites paper contributions that offer critical reflections on the role of universities in sustainability and the role of sustainability in universities. Select papers may be presented at the thirteenth international conference of the International Society for the Intercommunication of New Ideas (ISINI) taking place at the WSB University in Wroclaw, Poland from Aug. 29-30. The deadline for a paper abstract is May 1.
